2009 Illicit Drug Policy Roundtable

On 28 January 2009 DPMP convened a Roundtable on illicit drug policy in Australia. The Roundtable was an effort to address the need for new and forward-looking collective thinking about illicit drug policy. Twenty-seven leaders and experts in drug policy from around Australia met in Canberra to discuss priority issues for illicit drug policy. The enthusiasm and willingness to participate by all those invited demonstrated the high level of commitment by this unique and diverse group of experts to creating opportunities for ongoing dialogue about Australian illicit drug policy.

The report provides a summary of the issues discussed on the day and we hope will provide Australian government with some guidance in reviewing current policy and determining priorities for action to 2020.
