Drug Policy Modelling Program

The DPMP website is designed for both policy makers and researchers. It serves to provide information on illicit drug policies and tools for policy makers but also on the current and completed work of the DPMP research team. The DPMP website contains comprehensive information about illicit drug policies including:

• An overview of DPMP and information about us
• Links to national and state policy documents
• Statistical data on rates of drug use
• Analysis of policy options under the section what works
• Tools and methods for both researchers and policy makers

The Australian (illicit) drug policy timeline has been updated and includes events from 1985-2008. Click here to access the latest version.

New Projects

We have begun work on a new project, Examining the economic consequences of different types of law enforcement interventions directed towards methamphetamine. Find out more on our current projects page.

Recent Publications

Uncertainty and Risk, a new book taking a multidisciplinary approach to the study of uncertainty, was launched on Thursday, May 8th in Canberra. Three DPMP chief investigators were involved with Gabriele Bammer acting as co-editor of the book and Alison Ritter and Pascal Perez contributing chapters.
